See Outdoor Hour Challenge with Harmony Art Mom to see all the guidelines for Challenge #5.
We have chosen Mammals as our category of study for the next 4-6 weeks of study.
We discussed the first 5 questions on page 259 in the Handbook of Nature Study (HoNS). Our Jip has pumpkin colored eyes that don't see as well at night as a cats. He has thicker pads on his feet than cats, and he uses his teeth to eat, instead of his claws. We observed that dogs are much more muscular than cats.
Just in case you think we did not take a nature walk, you can see were we observed the Sandhill Cranes this week and this post where we went bird watching with Olive Plants and observed some new types in person.
Remember, Kingdom Arrows, along with a little help from Olive Plants will be having a Mr. Linky starting in January where everyone who joins in will be keeping a Month List of all the birds they have seen. Each month we will post the birds seen on the last day of the month.

Fun Nature Study - I have had the most fun observing the objects in our everyday life that seem to go un-observed. :)
