Tweet and See, May 2011

Wow!  This was a crazy month, and I wonder how many of you were able to keep up with your bird list!  I am adding a new component to Tweet and See, thanks to Angie at Pebblekeeper.  If you would like, you can add your Favorite Bird Happening or Bird Scene picture for the month.  Here are mine for the month.

Here is the list we saw in May where I live:
A * represents the first time on our list.
  1. House Finch
  2. Eastern Pee Wee *

Here is the list from our tirp to Williamsburg and the Outer Banks.  I really was surpirsed at some of the common  birds, even though we were 12 hours away and in a completely different habitat.  Some of the same birds were the Mockingbird, Crow, Robin, Catbird and Cowbird.

Birds in the Outer Banks:
  1. Brown Pelican *
  2. Laughing Gull *
  3. Herring Gull *
  4. Rock Dove
  5. Sanderling *
  6. Double Crested Cormorant *
  7. Ring Billed Gull
  8. Purple Martin
  9. Great Egret
  10. Boat Tailed Grackle *
  11. Fish Crow *
  12. Foster's Tern *
  13. Snowy Egret *
  14. Black-Capped Chickadee (not a Carolina)*
Birds in the Williamsburg area:
  1. Blue Jay
  2. Barn Swallow *
  3. Royal Tern *
  4. House Sparrow
  5. Immature Female Dickcissel* (any other ideas, this even has stumped Dawn)

What do you think?  Is this a mystery bird?

  1. Sorry for joining a little late, I had not been able to get to the linky part. I have really enjoyed keeping these lists. I purchased the iBird app in May, and now, when I see a bird, I can click the Favorite Star for the list and then download the list. So, now my app has the Life List, May List, and as of yesterday - the June List. Really really fun. I can't wait to see what changes we see throughout the year.
