On Saturday it was mom's birthday. I made a bundt pound cake, which was a Paula Dean recipe. It was strawberry shortcake. We all loved it. It was the first homemade cake I have made and it had five eggs. The cake was definitely a success because Dad ate two helpings. We also went out to eat Mexican food, since it is mom's favorite. A tradition we have is Breakfast in Bed for the birthday person. Dad and all the children made cheese eggs and donuts to take to her.

H is for homemaker,
E njoyed,
A dored,
T hrough fun times and hard,
H eather is her name,
E nthusiastically signed,
not by a Right hand, but left: MEW.
