MEW loves to write poetry, so she decided to write one just for the blog. This is her 11th birthday, too!
The Months
On the eve of the year
‘’Happy New Year’s Day!’’ We cheer!
It is January, dreary and freezing
And we must stay warm and studying.
Finally in February the furry judge shall decide the time of spring
With all of us anxiously waiting.
Then comes the day of the Christian doctor
Who was a Follower.
Joy of joys what comes bouncing through the door is spring.
Christ rose from the dead, so we should sing.
Afterwards the month of March ends.
April comes to the stage when we make rainy friends.
May is next in line with blooms and flowers of every kind.
June begins with warm sunbeams for each day to find.
July, ‘’Hurray!’’ we scream, we take our cue,
And the easiest colors to spot are red, white, and blue.
Just as hot comes August,
All of us, for cooler days we lust.
Finally, fall starts
As we enjoy apple tarts.
The end of October we celebrate
As years past Luther spoke about the church, out straight.
Mmm…on Thanksgiving Day
We pat our tummies in a contented way.
And lastly, at the end of the train, December comes and then the year begins again.
I love this! MEW, you did a great job. Happy Birthday!

ReplyDeleteWell done, M! Your trip to the year reveals what you consider during that time and what best rhymes. Happy Birthday as well! We hope that all your days are full of blessings to tell.
ReplyDeleteNice work, M! I didn't write my first poem till I was much older, probably 15.
