Using Your Words
We were to take a walk in our yard, we chose the woods behind our house.
We were to remain quiet and keep our eyes open to observe. It was a drizzly, cool day.
When we came back in, we were to--
Use one word describing what we heard:
- Mom: tweet
- Joy-bug-: drip
- Gracie-girl: crunch
- Mom: green moss
- Joy-bug: red leaf
- Gracie-girl: black bird
- Mom: sharp, pointy sweetgum
- Joy-bug: cold, small drop
- Gracie-girl: crunchy, vein-y leaf

What did Jip the dog say? Dad wishes he could have gone on the trek too.
ReplyDeleteI think you all did a very good job on the words. I think for some children this is a hard exercise but the more you do it, either just orally or eventually in a nature journal, the better they will get at it.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your nature study with the OHC.
