Living Near the Smokies

One of the perks to life here is being close the the Smoky Mountains. Recently we took our family up to Laurel Springs and had to turn back because of a family of BEARS! The next week we hiked up at Elkmont and saw another family of BEARS! Here are pics of my little people who played in a stream. DG chose his favorite hobby, throwing "ticks" and rocks.

  3. We went to Elkmont last year and hiked along the Little River. No bears although they had been seen in the area. On previous Smokies trips, I have seen bears once - from the car, my favorite place to see wild bears from a distance. Glad everything turned out okay for y'all and how exciting to get to see them up close!
