One of my closest friends, Dawn, is putting her soap selling business on-line.  She is a stay-at-home, homeschool mom, and is getting a little "egg" money from selling these soaps.  As you can tell from these pics she does designer soap for a great price.  These would make great Christmas presents.  Please click here to see her full line.  If you live locally to me, and don't need it earlier, you can have FREE SHIPPING, since I will be visiting Dawn and with bring back any soap on December 20.

Thanksgiving Ideas

The past few years we have made a Thankful Tree where I drew a trunk on butcher paper, and cut out leaves on which we wrote our blessings.  My picture from last year is not digital, so no example to show you.

Life this year is even more complicated, so we opted for this:

I cut out fall colors and we wrote or drew a picture of our blessings.  On Thanksgiving Day we will read them out loud.

Fabric Pumpkin Craft

We made these Fabric Pumpkins from our favorite magazine, Seasons at Home, Holiday Issue 2008. You can order it at www.joyoushome.com. Seasons at Home Magazine has many crafts and recipes for keepers of their home. I wanted to share this craft idea, because it is easy for littles, but makes them feel like they are big because they use real fabric.

Step 1: Trace a pumpkin pattern on freezer paper or tracing paper
Step 2: Cut out many little shapes of fall fabric all different sizes
Step 3: Glue brown stem to top of paper, then glue holiday prints in a crazy quilt sort of way. We used elmers, and painted it on
Step 4: Cut the pumpkins out
Step 5: Pin a backing onto the pumpkins and stitch around the edge. I used the machine and a decorative stitch, but you could hand-whip with embroidery floss.
Step 6: Cut around the completed pumpkin. I used pinking shears, but regular scissors would work.
